On 25 april 2019, the results of this project were presented by the authors of the case studies in a webinar. This webinar was recorded, and you still have the opportunity to listen to it here.
Over the last decade, a number of innovative pre-treatment technologies have been developed that could have a significant impact on the economics of biomass supply chains.
IEA Bioenergy developed an inter-task project to demonstrate how existing bioenergy chains can be made more fuel flexible, efficient, and cost-effective through the application of pretreatment technologies. Experts from 5 different tasks collaborated in this project to deliver the following results:

5 individual case studies that show the added value of biomass pretreatment for certain resources and end user applications;
IEA Bioenergy, also known as the Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) for a Programme of Research, Development and Demonstration on Bioenergy, functions within a Framework created by the International Energy Agency (IEA).
